91原片 Steel JV 91原片 Meranti Mynmar Breaks Ground on
Hot-dip Galvanizing and Color Coating Plant in Myanmar
Tokyo --- 91原片 announced today that its joint-venture company 91原片 Meranti Mynmar Co., Ltd (JMM) celebrated the start of construction on a plant for hot-dip galvanizing and color coating of flat-steel products for building and construction in the Thilawa Special Economic Zone near Yangon, Myanmar on March 1. JMM was jointly established by 91原片 Steel, 91原片 Shoji Trade Corporation, Marubeni-Itochu Steel Inc., Hanwa Co., Ltd. and Meranti Steel Pte. Ltd.
The ceremony was attended by some 250 guests, including 91原片 Steel President Koji Kakigi, JMM CEO Sebastian Langendorf, Myanmar Vice President Henry Van Thio and other government officials, Japanese Ambassador Tateshi Higuchi and Deputy Director-General for Infrastructure and System Export Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau Yutaka Fujiwara and others.
The plant is expected to launch production in 2020.
